Taree Quota kicked off their donation drive for drought effected families at Taree Central on Thursday, July 12.

Within the first hour, they had received more than $450 from shoppers.
A Taree social networking group also donated $350.
Donations are placed inside an upside down red umbrella.
“This is a symbol of distress,” Taree Quotarian Deb Steber said.
She thanked the Taree community for their ongoing support for the project.
Members will be on hand at the shopping centre today (July 13) before stops at Valley Cafe Taree, Wingham Newsagency and Coles Wingham in the coming weeks.
All money raised will help the wives and children of drought effected farmers in the Walgett area.
Funds will be distributed as vouchers to be used a local stores in the town.
