Kerrie and husband Kristian Guppy bought the ailing landscaping business on Wingham Road in July 2015, just as it was about to close its doors for good.
They then revamped and re-branded the business Aus Eco Landscaping Supplies.
The couple already had a thriving business based in Ballan, Victoria called Aus Eco Solutions, and left a team to continue the work down there.
“We built it up over 11 years, which allowed us to follow our dreams and open a branch here,” Kerrie explains.
Aus Eco Landscaping Supplies is, however, a separate business to Aus Eco Solutions, which does bush regeneration work, and conservation and land management and aims to restore native ecosystems.
The ethos remains the same for Aus Eco Landscaping Supplies, with a strong chemical free focus on regenerating our planet.
In Wingham they have continued to offer sand, soil, mulch, cement and gravels but have expanded into a broader garden centre experience that now includes plants, quirky garden art, Foxlights, tools, pavers, Isa Brown pellets, eco products and more.
The team is made up of Kristian and Kerrie plus helpers Chelsea Hands, Aaron Crowe and Braithe Waite.

This friendly team are on hand to help customers make their garden a special place to enjoy.
“Our nursery stocks a wide range of plants, with a focus on local indigenous plants to the Manning Valley to help create habitat for our native fauna,” said Kerrie.
Aus Eco has access to a much broader range of plants than those within their nursery and can order plants specific to customer’s needs from tube stock to mature trees.
“We avoid stocking plants that can be garden escapees into in our bush settings,” Kerrie added.
The Aus Eco team are particularly proud of their biologically enriched ‘Wingham Gold,’ a premium soil they produce themselves.
“Wingham Gold has proven popular with many in the community for their veggie gardens or farming produce,” said Kerrie.
Kristian and Kerrie have discovered the local area is made up of vibrant communities who love our natural pristine environment.
This offers the couple the perfect setting to raise their family of four children.
They are deeply involved in the community from sponsorship and playing in sporting teams and events, to volunteer roles at Rural Fire Service, Scout Association, Chamber of Commerce and Manning Valley Turtle Conservation Group.
