Over the last few years the Old Bar Poppy Project has been most successful in receiving great community support in organising the making of poppies, both knitted and crocheted, creating garlands and wreaths to honour all those who have served and are still serving our country – particularly in 2015, the centenary of Gallipoli and all those who served in World War I; in 2017 animals who served alongside their humans in World War I and were unable to return home; and in 2018 to mark the centenary of World War I armistice and the hope for world peace.
The Old Bar Community Technology Cente was very involved in this community project, printing and issuing patterns on request and acting as a collection agency for completed poppies. Without their encouragement and support the project would not have been the success is has proved to be.
The whole team at CTC, although only small, always greeted us with a smile, were just so courteous, obliging and caring. Nothing was a problem.
We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude not only on behalf our behalf but on behalf of a grateful community.
Words cannot properly express out appreciation. A great big thank you to each one of you.
Every single one of you is very special.
We are most fortunate to have volunteers of your calibre and community devotion in our small town.
