Lansdowne School is starting to collect names of students who will be starting kindergarten in 2019 so they can be part of their Lansdowne little learners program, commencing in term three.

Lansdowne little learners is a comprehensive transition to school program that involves students attending sessions every fortnight in term three and every week in term four.
This program has proved valuable over the past few years.
If you have a child starting school next year or know of a family who does, please contact the school for further information.
Lansdowne School awards were presented to students at the recent school assembly.
In class k12, the student of the week award to Isabella Graham for an excellent homework record.
Class awards went to to Jack Barrass for a great start to term two and Ebony Bain for a consistent effort in class activities.
The fast maths award went to Wren Irvine Knight for moving up a level.
The artist award went to Lucas Steed for his beautiful “Autumn Leaf”.
In class two, three, four, the student of the week award went to Kataya Potts for her dedication to home reading 75 nights.
Class awards were given to Jaya Bell for 50 nights home reading and Kelsey James for consistent effort in all tasks.
The fast maths award went to Theo Huber for great progress in fast maths.
In class five, six, student of the week was Cheyenne Witchard for taking on extra responsibilities and thriving.
Class awards went to Caleb James for always being quick to complete tasks, Quinn Huber for consistently high standard of work and William Bell for improved school work.
The Lansdowne School debating team of Molly Stuart, Quinn Huber, Callan Wright and Caleb James did an excellent job last week.
It was their first experience of debating, and the team was able to argue its case very well.
It was a close finish with Lansdowne winning the debate by two points.
Women’s bowling club
The Lansdowne women’s bowling club would like to invite all women interested in learning how to play to join them on Wednesday, May 30 at 10am at the Lansdowne Bowling and Recreation Club.
Names to be in by Monday, May 28.

Biggest morning tea
Two biggest morning tea events are being held next week in the community.
The first one will be at the Lansdowne Public School on Wednesday, May 23, commencing at 10.30am.
Entry to the morning tea will be by gold coin donation.
All members of the community are invited to go along and enjoy a lovely morning tea with teachers and staff.
The Upper Lansdowne social craft group will be again hosting a biggest morning tea on Thursday, May 24 at the Upper Lansdowne Memorial Hall.
The morning will begin at 10am and finish at noon.
Entry will be $2, and lots of activities will be happening with a trash and treasure table, raffles, lucky dips and of course a delicious homemade morning tea.

Also, the mobile sharpening man will be there so take along scissors, knives, gardening tools etc and have them sharpened while you are enjoying your morning tea.
