Winning again this year, was Club Taree hauling in 88 kilos more than their Newcastle competitors.
Weigh in was based on total bag weights and it was Club Taree that came out on top, with a combined weight of 116.75kg total. Weston Workers total came to 28.75kg.
Conditions over the weekend were sunny, with cloud at level three and a wind of 15kts S/SE. No individual weights as this was a team effort.
The friendly comp has been going for some 40 years. It started as a social outing between friends from the two clubs in 1974. Anglers had such a good time, they decided to make it an annual event – and so every year around this time, Club Taree and Weston Workers get together for the May Weigh In.
Biggest fish was caught by Daniel Richardson from Club Taree Fishing Club. He bagged a 18.95kg Cobia.
Bruce Roberts represented Weston Workers Newcastle.
