The river has continued to provide good catches of bream, mulloway and flathead.
Mulloway have been caught from the river wall using live yellow tail as bait. The spit has fished well for whiting, flathead, tailor and mulloway.
A tailor weighing 6.3kgs was caught last weekend while most of the others weigh 1.5 to 3kg.
The south side Crowdy Head is producing tailor when the seas allow. At present there is a heavy swell coming in from the east-south-east that make it dangerous to fish from the stones on the side of the headland.
Red fin salmon were caught from Crowdy beach early in the week, This fish is a tropical resident and it is unusual for one to be caught this far south.
Outisde anglers have boated snapper, trag and mac tuna when the seas allowed during the past week in what has been a reasonable time for fishing in the Manning area.
Meanwhile several rods and reels have been stolen from Harrington and Diamond Head recently, it has been reported.
It is best to keep your gear locked up when not in use.
A mulloway of 24kgs as landed at Diamond Head last weekend.
