Drivers were tasked with nine stages, across both day and night, that would determine early season form and championship points.
National champion Nathan Quinn showed his off his credentials in his Mazda RX2 with co-driver Andrew Crowley to finish first overall and in the E class.
They completed the stages with a cumulative time of 1:29:18.
Reigning champion Peter Neal secured second with co-driver Craig Whyburn, about four seconds behind Quinn and Crowley.
They were the fastest overall in the 4WD class.
Ian Hill and Phillip Bonser, in their Ford Escort, claimed third overall and the win in the C class.
Tara McIlroy took out the women’s category and finished 21st overall.
The series moves to Rosewood for round two on April 28.
It will return to the region on July 28, with round four to be staged at Bulahdelah.
