There will be a fermented foods exhibition, including demonstrations of how to make ginger beer, sourdough, cheese and kombucha.
There will be the farmers markets, a ploughman’s lunch with sourdough bread, salami and cheeses, and local brewers selling their wares – Wicked Elf, Black Duck and Long Point – so you can have wine or beer with your lunch.
One of the new parts of the show is that businesses that support agriculture will have trade stalls. There will be horse events in the ring for the entire weekend of Saturday February 24 and Sunday 25, including the stockman’s challenge, heavy horses and equestrian events.
Secretary and Comboyne Show co-ordinator Marion Lawrence says the pavilions will be jam-packed with art, photographs, craft, preserves and baking, and in the produce pavilion, there will be flowers and plants, fruit and vegetables, plus a giant pumpkin display.
“In our beautiful new Billabong building, there will be the fermented foods and sculpture, pottery and the botanical design display, which is new.”
There will also be a championship dog show and a poultry exhibition. People will be directed to the new parking area. There will be children’s amusements.
Entry is still $5 for adults, with children aged 16 and under free. The show runs on Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday 9am to 2pm.
