An email call out for musos went out on February 3 with more than 200 applications so far received.
“We’ve had five to 10 everyday,” said festival coordinator Donna Ballard on Friday, February 16.
The 2018 festival will be held on the weekend of October 19-21 at Wingham Showgrounds.
From the hundreds of applications just 30-35 acts will be lucky enough to grace the Akoostik stage.
The final line-up will be announced later in the year with organisers having the difficult task of shortlisting the applicants before then.
Donna can confirm there will be a couple of festival favourites returning this year.
There are also some big name acts who have peformed at some of Australia’s largest musical events, including Bluesfest in Byron Bay and Blues on Broadbeach, in place to perform in October.
The Low and Slow Brisket Challenge including the Junior Barbecue Challenge will also be back.
“There’s a real mix of everything with quite a few locals,” said Donna.
Artist applications will remain open until the end of February. To apply go to www.akoostik.com.au/artists.
