TAREE’S Nick Larkin has been named in a 13 strong NSW Sheffield Shield cricket side to play Western Australia at Perth starting on Thursday.
The Sydney University batsman will head to Perth in good form, having made 164 in the clash against North Sydney last weekend.
Former test wicket keeper Peter Nevill will lead the Blues. Larkin will be looking to get among the runs after recording a pair in his last appearance for NSW in December against Victoria.
NSW test players, captain Steve Smith and pace trio Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins are all being rested ahead of the four-Test tour of South Africa, which begins next month, while national vice-captain David Warner is leading Australia’s Twenty20 side.
The NSW squad is Peter Nevill (capt), Harry Conway, Trent Copeland, Ed Cowan, Mickey Edwardsm, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Nick Larkin, Nathan Lyon, Nic Maddinson, Kurtis Patterson, Gurinder Sandhu, Charlie Stobo.
