Mr Marriott said it has been a pleasure to ‘give something back to the community,’ since making the Manning Valley his home. He lives at Cundletown.
He has been in the Manning since 1972. He has had a long association with the Taree RSL sub –branch, serving as secretary while he has worked on memorials for World War I and World War II and the Korean War. Mr Marriott has been president of the Taree Probus Seniors Group while he has worked in various capacities with the Anglican Church. He previously volunteered with Taree Leisure Link Respite where he spent many hours working with people with disabilities. Mr Marriott was also president of the Wingham Highlands Committee.
Alison Gleeson from Old Bar was also nominated for her work with Wingham’s St Vincent de Paul. She was worked tirelessly to help anyone who comes to Vinnies looking for assistance and also provides the precious gift of companionship for those she assists.
