Taree Arts Council, working in conjunction with the Manning Entertainment Centre, will present the workshop on the weekend of February 10 and 11.
Open to people aged 17 and older, the two-day workshop will see participants learn musical theatre technique and characterisation to develop performance skills in voice, singing, acting and stagecraft.
This will include working in a team, analysing a song and interpreting a scene.
The participants will also work intensively on a Les Miserables song to culminate in a performance on the Sunday afternoon.
Peter Cousens has appeared in musical theatre productions in Australia and London.
He played the lead in Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and other shows and has a wealth experience in all aspects of the performing arts including film, musical theatre, drama, direction and talent development.
The two-day workshop will be held at the Manning Entertainment Centre on February 10 (1pm to 5pm) and February 11 (9am to 3pm).
The cost is $50 (to be paid upon booking) and there is a limit of 50 participants. Those attending are asked to bring their own food and refreshments and wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.
