Luke Mudie left the car unlocked outside Domino's Pizza for a matter of minutes, before returning to find the dog had been taken from his black Ford Territory.
“I parked on Victoria Street, and I wouldn’t have been gone more than three minutes,” he said.
“It was at about 6.15pm, and I just ran in to pick up a pre-ordered pizza.”
The 16 week old puppy was wearing a pink collar at the time she was taken, with no name or number listed.
Family member Saree Cassano described the incident as disgusting.
“The puppy was safe, it wasn't hot, it’s not a case of rescuing,” she said.
“Someone must have seen something, CCTV in nearby businesses should have captured something. My granddaughter just wants her puppy back, she's devastated.”
Anyone who has information or who witnessed the incident is encouraged to report it to police or contact Luke Mudie on 0438 083 301.
