Council’s team leader of project delivery, Stuart Small told council gathering this expert information was causing delays to the repairs.
Mr Small presented the December council meeting an update on capital works projects.
The contract for the design and construction of Bobin Creek bridge and Bulga Creek bridge on Bulga Road has been awarded to Bridgeworks (Aus) Pty Ltd, subject to several conditions.
Recently announced grant funding for Callaghans Creek Bridge, near Cundle Flat, has required a change in design to meet grand requirements, Mr Small said. “The old bridge has been decommissioned in preparation for construction of its replacement.”
MidCoast Council has experienced significant delays in consultants finalising the design of the Jimmy’s Beach sand transfer system. The tender for construction and further design work was advertising on December 5 with a report to be presented to council’s February 2018 meeting.
Mr Small said it was anticipated the project would be complete during September prior to site restrictions for nesting seabirds.
