It’s an annual tradition that has been shared by generations of local families, ringing in the New Year on the banks of the Manning River and enjoying a dazzling display of fireworks over the water.
Celebrations will kick off from 5pm in Queen Elizabeth Park, Taree, and will include an exciting line-up of live entertainment, carnival and food stalls, novelties and rides for the children.
“And of course our trademark fireworks display, which is set off from a barge on the water, at 9pm,” said Donna Hudson, MidCoast Council’s coordinator, communications and stakeholder management.
With support from local businesses, including gold sponsor Club Taree, the community can expect a cracker celebration.
Club Taree is joined by Taree Auto Group, 2RE radio and Max FM, and Ironwood Australia and JR Richards and Sons as supporters.
“It’s fantastic to see our local businesses offering their support, particularly given the importance of New Year’s Eve celebrations to the local community,” Donna said.
“It’s this type of support that brings people together in a positive and celebratory atmosphere, and it’s what makes our sense of community so strong.
“Come along with friends and family, bring a picnic rug to claim your place on the riverbank.”
The Fireworks on the Foreshore is a family friendly event, 5 – 9pm Sunday, December 31, in Queen Elizabeth Park Taree.
