On Thursday, December 14, Central Park and Bent Street will be transformed into a family carnival with the annual Wingham Christmas Street Carnival starting at 5pm.

There will be heaps of entertainment for all children with amusement rides coming to town and Santa will be making a guest appearance at 8pm.
The carnival will have rides for young children, the under 12s and rides to entertain teenagers together with various treats to eat along Bent Street.
Many of the local retailers will also be open during the carnival for your chance to do a spot of late night Christmas shopping or just relax for a while with a coffee.
Chocolate wheels will be turning with loads of chances to win your tasty Christmas ham so come down and support the community clubs and groups who will be providing chances to win and different food stalls.
The finale will be the lucky draw at 8.30pm where shoppers will have the chance to win $500 in shopping voucher prizes.
During the lead up to the carnival, participating outlets will be giving away shopper dockets to customers to enter into the draw, so shop local for Christmas in Wingham for your chance to win.
Just a reminder participants have to be present at the draw to be eligible for the prizes.
The Chamber will be holding bed races from 5.30pm with businesses and community groups urged to put a team together and support this worthwhile community event.
Part proceeds from the race will be donated to Rescue and Emergency services. Police, Taree VRA and SES volunteers will again maintain a safe and enjoyable evening and parents are urged to ensure their children are fully supervised throughout the night.
There will be no traffic access into Bent Street between Isabella and Farquhar Streets after 4:30 pm, with road closures effective until the carnival finishes at 9.30pm.
All drivers are asked to remove their cars from Bent Street before 4pm to ensure safe conduct of the carnival.
