The event is the culmination of the Live ‘n’ Loud events that are held throughout the year.
Now in its sixth year, Summerfest is planned and run by local young people.
Everything from organising, marketing, production and performances is the responsibility of the Manning Youth Action Team (MYAT).
In a first for the event, Sydney based band Bad Pony will be the headline act with local artist Kyle Shilling in support.
Live ‘n’ Loud bands SOAR, EZ3, Nana Klumpp and Sox & Robbers round out the line-up.
The youth action team will be supported by MidCoast Council youth engagement officer Russell Ingram, who said the event gives local artists a good platform to showcase their talent.
“The event gives a variety of artists who have performed at Live ‘n’ Loud the opportunity to play on a larger outdoor stage in front of a wider community audience,” Russell said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop their skills and stage presence, and to build their profiles.”
He added that youth organising the event can gain new skills and experience.
“It also provides great exposure to the project management side of things, as they gain experience that will stand them in good stead into the future.
“We’re hoping the broader community will come along and show their support for these talented young people, and enjoy what’s sure to be a fantastic night of entertainment,” Russell said.
The event is drug and alcohol free, with tickets available online for $10.
Gates open at 4.30pm and will run until 9pm.
A barbecue and soft drinks will be available on the night.
Attendees will be encouraged to park on River Street near Fotheringham Park.
Disability access will be via the walkway along the river with the main access via the entrance gate on River Street.
