The event attracted 21 entrants with the Manning Great Lakes duo, known as Team Carpet Court/ Cranka Lures, coming out on top with a 3.16 kilogram bag.
Grant said event came down to wire, with a 960 gram catch within the final 45 minutes securing the win.
They finished ahead of Peter Macor and Adrian Neoh, known as Team Ecogear, by 260 grams.
Despite a smaller field compared to previous years, Grant said the event was still very competitive.
“It was also nice to beat some locals on their home soil,” he said.
He added that there were periods of the day where nothing was being caught or just small fish.
Round three of the series will be held on the Clarence River on January 21 next year.
