The recent Taree Business Chamber annual general meeting yielded an almost complete change of committee, with business people who are keen to see the area develop and make the most of its opportunities stepping up.

The new committee is:
President- John Stevens
Vice president- Paula Gilmore
Treasurer- Kyle Brown
Secretary- Helen Scarr
Committee members- Everett Sweedman, Ivor Thomas, Jane MacKenzie, Jenny Ashton and Kai Acorn.
Incoming president John Stevens said the chamber is “deeply indebted to Jeremy Thornton and past executive members for their work on advancing business in our region.”
“This iteration of the Taree Business Chamber hopes to continue this good work by ensuring the voice of our local business community is represented in front of local state and federal government.
“To this end we want to see the natural advantages of Taree reach their full potential and leverage every opportunity available to do this.
“We’re also tirelessly committed to fostering a culture of ingenuity, collaboration and opportunity so that together we can all do better business together to create the economic prosperity that this region if capable of,” Mr Stevens said.
The chamber will host the November “Speed Networking” breakfast at Club Taree on Wednesday, November 15 at 7.15am (for a 7.30am start).
The breakfast will be a good opportunity to meet the new committee and find out more about chamber members.
