Congratulations and belated happy 80th birthday wishes to Tinonee local Bert Dawson, whose birthday fell early October. Family and friends including relatives from all over the State, together with Bert’s paddling group friends, gathered at his home on Saturday October 7 for the ‘big bash’ and a great time was enjoyed by all.
Bert’s favourite bird is the Kookaburra and he received several special gifts relating to this Australian bird including a lovely painting by his grand daughter. Well done Bert on your milestone, may you have many more to come.

A desperate plea for more canteen helpers has gone out from canteen supervisor Michelle Swannack, if you can help be it just one day a term that would be great, please phone the school 6553 1279 for further details on what is needed to be part of a great team working for the school students and betterment of the school resources.
Another birthday celebration
Andrew Prentice celebrated his 78th birthday on Sunday October 15 and wife Sue supplied a cake for his fellow St Luke’s Parishioners to share over morning tea after he blew out the candles to the singing of ‘Happy Birthday’. Hope you enjoyed the day Andrew and all the very best for the years ahead.
Hall news
The committee of the Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall met on Monday evening last and was attended by six members including new member Matrix.
In the correspondence was a letter to say the Hall had missed out on the CDSE Grant application and the committee is looking for further grants to assist with the Hall maintenance. Plans are in hand to hold a summer fair on Saturday November 11 and a number of stall holders have indicated their participation on the day.
A lovely ‘thank you card’ was received from Mrs Joan Blyth thanking all for the lovely luncheon and set up of the hall for her recent birthday party.
In closing my notes for this week I couldn’t let the week go without wishing husband John a very happy 66th birthday on Sunday October 22. Hope it will be a good one for you dear.
