There promises to be fun aplenty at the 139th annual Taree Show from October 6-8 at Taree Showground.
All the usual attractions will be on offer with some exciting new additions.
Making their local show debut will be six little racing piglets all vying for the ultimate prize – a bowl of milk.
“They’re raising money for Riding for the Disabled (RDA),” said show secretary Jennifer Anstey.
With little coats, and their own racing numbers, the piglets will no doubt draw the crowds for each of their five races throughout the day on Saturday from 11.30am.
If the piglets aren’t enough to keep the little ones amused the Kiddies Corner will once again be open for games, activities and balloon modelling from 9am on both Saturday and Sunday.
Last year 3000 people packed the showgrounds over the three day event.
Things kick off on Friday for a Family Fun Day packed full of pony club events sponsored by Manning Valley Saddlery.
Friday also offers the junior heifer show, Ag shed judging and the arts and craft judging – entry is free all day.
Saturday is expected to be a big day for showgoers and exhibitors alike.

Each year the wood chopping is a much loved attraction.
