This week Taree-Wingham Race Club members voted unanimously to agree to the merger at a specially convened meeting held at the Winning Post Function Centre.

Taree-Wingham chairman Greg Coleman said the meeting attracted 29 members. The club has a membership of 168.
“I thought there may have been a few more there, but I suppose if anyone had concerns they would have shown up,’’ he said.
He added the meeting was overwhelmingly positive toward the move. He added the name – Manning Valley Race Club – was received favourably.
Mr Coleman said a further meeting will be called on Monday, October 16 where members will vote on the new club’s constitution. However, the Krambach club will cease operations from Saturday, September 30.
Four Krambach board members, Brian Kelly, Martin Bates, Trevor Wisemantle and Sandra Kiely will then join the Taree-Wingham board made up of Greg Coleman, Neil Dignam, Tony Walton, Steve Knott and Neville Frame.
The nine will then make up the board of the Manning Valley Race Club when the constitution is approved. The new club will need final approval from Racing NSW, although Mr Coleman expects this will be a formality.
Mr Coleman said the board could meet after the October 16 meeting to vote on executive positions, although this will depend on the availability of members.
From October 1 an integration process will begin. Mr Coleman said this could be completed in time for the October 20 Krambach Cup meeting.
The new club will be third biggest under the control of NSW Country Racing behind the Clarence River Jockey Club at Grafton and the Wagga-based Murrumbidgee Turf Club. It will run 22 TAB meetings and one non-TAB meeting.
