Their major project contributes 40 marks towards the HSC, with a further 20 marks coming from the folio. The other 40 marks comes from the final exam.
The students that undertake these major projects spend three full school terms making their works. They have to source all their own timber, and they also spend a full week of the school holidays working at school on their projects. They are not on detention – they do this willingly, because they enjoy working on their own projects!
“It's a great course, where students are able to grow, especially as they take ownership of their projects,” said teacher Scotty Brown.
