A muster day will be held at Rec 2 on Wednesday October 11 at 4pm to start the competition which is planned to run until December 13.
Games will be for teams of seven and played under the T20 format.
The association will also run a mixed T20 competition on Thursday afternoons.
“This will give kids who have other commitments on the weekends a chance to play cricket,’’ Manning Junior Cricket president Michael Steinmetz said.
The shortened format is being adopted in the under 10s and 12s this year and will move to the 14s and 16s next season. The competition-proper starts in October.
