Twelve members of Wingham Pony Club competed in the two-day event with more than 80 riders coming from the entire zone spread from Forster in the south to Corindi in the north and Dorrigo in the west.
“It was a fantastic weekend,” said Wingham Pony Club’s chief instructor Sue Small.
“We had great support from eveyone who came.”
The Wingham team did the club proud.
Riders Lilly and Courtney Eggins, Tegan and Erin Hinshelwood, Dylan O’Hara, Chelsea Eagles, Sienna and Celsa Bilardello, Annabelle Nunn, Rachel Plant, Chloe Bennett and Jess Craythorn all came home with ribbons.
“They held their own very well,” said Sue.
“I’m very proud of the team and of course I want to thank their parents.”
Jess Craythorn was the zone recipient of the Keith Lowe award for her outstanding contribution to the Wingham Pony Club.
The award is given to riders aged 17 to under 25.
“Jess was a very worthy recipient,” said Sue.
“It was a big honour.”
The overall top team award went to Willawarrin Pony Club, which was also the largest club represented.
Zone 9 Pony Club is situated on the Mid North Coast and is affiliated with Pony Club NSW, one of the largest recognised state bodies for pony clubs in Australia, and one of the largest associations of riders in the world.
