The Day of Action against Sexual Assault is held on the last Thursday in August each year.
The event will commemorate victims of sexual assault, celebrate their survival and acknowledge the efforts and successes of people who work with those survivors.
One of the organisers, Diploma of Community Services student James McArthur, is passionate about raising awareness of how important education is.
“The day will be an opportunity to be part of something that is important. It is still too prevalent and stigmatised so we need to take action.”
The day will include informative and interactive activities such as presentations, a drumming circle and a guest speaker.
