This jaw-dropping statistic is one of the reasons the company won the 2017 Excellence in Export category at the NSW Business Chamber Mid North Coast Regional Business Awards in Port Macquarie.
They followed up the win by taking out the top honour of the night, being named 2017 Mid North Coast Regional Business of the Year.
Colin Steber was on hand to accept the awards.
“I actually thought we would take out innovation and not export, I thought we were going to do very well with our innovative product. We were unsuccessful there and we got the export. So you never know,” Mr Steber said.
Mr Steber said he did not expect to take out the big award, and didn’t have a speech prepared.
He was just as happy for the other Manning Valley winners.
“Taree took out seven of the 13 awards. We had a very big show from there,” he said.
