The identity of a Taree woman killed in Orange on Sunday in a hit-and-run crash will be released after all family have been notified, advise Cowra Police.

Police are hunting the driver involved in the crash which resulted in the death of the 36-year-old woman on Summer Street, Orange around 10.20pm on Sunday. They said it appeared the woman had walked from a nearby motel before she was hit by the vehicle.
Police said the woman was staying at the motel with her partner and it was not known where she was heading after leaving the motel. A motorist called police after seeing the woman's body near the Hill Street intersection. Police are continuing to examine CCTV footage to identify vehicles.
NSW Fire and Rescue officers were called to the scene to assist police at 4.30am Monday and Summer Street was blocked for several hours as crash investigators examined the site.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit have appealed for anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
