MidCoast Council has contracted Bolla Contracting to undertake the upgrades, which have been designed to assist in withstanding damage during future flooding events.
The scope of works, on Causeways No. 2 and 3 on Warrawillah Road, includes installing concrete abutments, constructing new concrete approaches, and the installation of mass concrete and rock armour batters.
Signage will be erected in advance of the closure on both sides, advising local motorists to travel an alternate route. It is anticipated the work will be completed by the end of July.
