This year’s celebration is especially significant because Australia is commemorating the Centenary of ANZAC between 2014 and 2018.
Tuesday, April 25, will mark the 102nd anniversary of the ill-fated landing of ANZAC troops on Gallipoli.
The Kempsey-Macleay RSL sub-branch has commemorative services planned throughout the region.
The day will commence at 5am at the Memorial Hall, with tea, coffee or hot chocolate being served.
At 5.20am Ex-Service personnel will assemble at the Memorial Hall and march to the East Kempsey Cenotaph.
There will also be a 5.20am assembly of Ex-service personnel at Willawarrin.
At 5.30am the dawn services will begin at East Kempsey and Willawarrin.
At 6am breakfast at the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club auditorium is to be provided free of charge to Ex-service personnel and will cost $5 for all others who attend the dawn service.
At 7am people will assemble at the South Kempsey Cemetery.
Meanwhile, the West Kempsey Cemetery assemblage will begin at 7.20am.
This will be followed by 9am services at Frederickton, Crescent Head and Willawarrin.
At 10am the service at Hat Head Bowling Club will commence.
At 10.15am all marchers are to assemble at Sydney St, next to the service station, for a 10.30am march to the East Kempsey Cenotaph.
Any disabled veterans requiring transport during the march to the Cenotaph, can obtain a ride by taxi, at no cost.
Services at Gladstone, East Kempsey and Bellbrook will all begin at 10.55am.
The day will conclude with a free lunch for all current and ex-service personnel, those in uniform and those wearing medals or RSL badge who attended the service.
