“As a school we had the opportunity to celebrate our similarities and differences,” Taree West Public School principal Donna Bensch said.
The children took part in many school activities during the day including learning how to say hello, welcome and counting in many languages including the local language of the Biripi people, Gathang.
“The children took part in class based research, shared stories and in a short assembly where our school captains spoke to us about Harmony Day,” Donna said.
“One of our students wrote and performed an original Harmony Day Rap and we were privileged to have a Dance Troupe perform a Filipino cultural dance presentation.
“The students also looked wonderful in their sea of orange.”
