Mid North Coast Concreting was awarded the tender for the project and enlisted help from Georgies Concreting, Mick Perry Concreting, Rod Cain Concreting, Kedwell Constructions and Nambucca Formwork to complete the works.
Taree based Holcim poured the concrete while Coast Wide Concreting completed the pumping.
The works covered 435 cubic metres and took the team over 12 hours to complete.
Mid North Coast Concreting’s Ben Murphy said it was an extensive job that required “many hands on deck.”
“I’d say every concreter on the Mid North Coast was up there,” Ben said.
Ben said he was pleased that all concreters and contractors could work effectively together on the project.
“We like it a lot.
“It’s a good job and the contractors AW Edwards in there have been really good,” Ben said.
Mid North Coast Concreting have attended to the site since construction began in January.
The team has poured concrete for the building’s columns and walls and will continue to add to the complex on a weekly basis.
The Manning Hospital redevelopment project will bring to life a new, purpose built facility that will provide enhanced cancer care and renal dialysis services.
Staff and patient amenities as well as the car park will round out the project.
While the building continues to be built, the existing High Street car park will continue to be operational. Dedicated alternative parking has also been made for the hospital to limit disruptions.
