The game will be played at Wollongong’s North Dalton Park.
Larkin has played in the previous two games where NSW defeated Victoria in Melbourne and had the best of a draw against Queensland in Sydney. The Sydney University opening batsman he helped rescue the NSW innings in the match against Queensland. The Blues were 2/2 at one stage before Larkin put together a composed 86 to steer the side out of trouble.
The match at North Dalton Park continues Cricket NSW’s commitment to taking elite cricket to regional areas following successful matches in Wagga Wagga, Newcastle and Coffs Harbour over the past two seasons.
Coach Trent Johnston believes the squad enjoys the opportunity to play in a different part of NSW.
“They enjoyed the training session we had last week and got a lot out of it,” he said.
“The wicket is very good and (Wollongong curator) Lionel Billett has done a great job on the entire ground.
“I’m a bit biased being an Illawarra boy myself, but I know the association are pumped to get the game down there and have been working towards this for a few years.
“They’ve upgraded the facilities and hopefully we can get some good weather and a good crowd for the match.”
The NSW squad is Moises Henriques (captain), Sean Abbott, Doug Bollingerm Harry Conway, Trent Copeland, Ed Cowan, Daniel Hughes, Nick Larkin, Nic Maddinson, Peter Nevill, Kurtis Patterson, Wil Somerville.
