The Manning region Catholic primary schools attended their regional swimming carnival at the Gloucester Swimming Pool Complex today (February 15).

This is the fourth year in a row, St Joseph’s Primary School Gloucester has won the bin to host the event.
Sport co-ordinator from St Joe’s Gloucester, Lee Sullivan said the event always attracts a large crowd of spectators.
“It’s a great way to showcase the town and a great boost for the local economy.”
Five schools from the region attended the carnival with the top performers moving onto the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle’s event on February 28.
Around 60 swimmers from St Joseph’s Primary School’s in Gloucester, Wingham, Taree and Bulahdelah, along with Holy Name Catholic Primary School Forster cheered each other on during the races.
Students from the Vocational Education Training (VET) Sport Coaching course at St Clare’s High School also came over to help out by timekeeping each race.
According to Gloucester Pool’s recreation and aquatic supervisor, John 'Tad' Parish, it was "the biggest crowd for the regional carnival so far.
