And as is the long-held tradition, students will be playing dress-ups and out and about in the community between 9am and 11am to raise money for their chosen charity – Solider On.
Soldier On supports Australian service men and women who have been wounded, physically or psychologically, in contemporary conflicts. This includes conflicts after 1990.
Soldier On also supports serving members who were wounded in training or other exercises, and individuals working for other government agencies (DFAT, AFP, Customs).
They are not part of the RSL, Legacy, or the Department of Veterans Affairs, but work with these organisations to support Australia’s young service men and women.
They work to help four areas: enhancing rehabilitation, adventurous events, community events and employment and education.
Year 12 advisers Steve and Stacey Harrell say that any assistance the Wingham community could offer in the students’ fundraising efforts would be greatly appreciated.
