A field of 62 players battled hard on Saturday with young junior Danny Bisby hitting his straps and recording a great score of 44 points to win the day. It was close though, with Cam Darby playing his best round for a while, 43 points, good enough to win A grade nett.
B grade was won by Jim Bradshaw with 42 and Steve Hatchwell doing likewise to win C grade. Runners-up were a distance away though – Rod Desborough with a 38 point score in A grade, Craig Harrison 39 on a countback in B grade and Cliff Beattie sinking putts everywhere to record 40 points in C grade.
In the ball competition, Daryl Heywood got the last one with 35 on a countback.
Nearest to the pins were up to their usual standard, with shot of the day going to Richard Clark in winning the Bent on Food prize on the 9th/18th hole. Others included Daryl Heywood (1st/10th Wingham Plaza Butchers), John Hynes (Manning Natural Healing 3rd/12th), Cam Darby (All About Conveyancing 4th/13th) and Neville Boyd (Bayview Seafoods 7th/16th).
