Jonathan, who resides in Beecroft, Sydney, is currently the ambassador for the Manning Winter Festival, which commissioned the work From Hidden Valleys to the Open Sea.
The upcoming Sydney concert takes its title from the work which was inspired by the Manning Valley.
Jonathan’s music fuses modern and traditional idioms to provide inspiration and connection with a 21st century audience whilst lacing together lyrical melodies and lush harmonies.
The concert will bring together 14 distinguished Australian wind and string players, including Ewan Foster (violin), George Yang (Cello), Michael Scott (Flute), Rachel Tolmie (Oboe), Long Nguyen (Bassoon) along with concert pianist Jonathan Martinovici.
Also featuring works by Tchaikovsky and Bach, the twilight concert is on at Carlingford Baptist Church on Saturday, September 17 from 5pm. Tickets are available through the Tallowdale Music website.
Jonathan’s music will be recorded by Tallowdale Music in October in association with Taree-based international music producer, Peter Stevenson, and Beechwood Studios, Armidale.
