IT was a packed room at Manning Gloucester Great Lakes Business Awards at Taree Wingham Race Club on Friday, July 1.
Hosted by Manning Valley Business Chamber the awards showcased MidCoast Council areas stars of business with Taree based company; Bamboo by Logan Leigh taking out the top award of ‘Business of The Year’.
Chamber president Jeremy Thornton said, “we were thrilled with the quality of businesses that attended and the feel of the evening. To have so many people attend representing all three areas further enhanced the feel of the business community working as one”.
They also won in two regional categories for ‘Excellence in Environmental Sustainability’ and ‘Excellence in Innovation’.
Owner David Embury was ecstatic and surprised with the win.
“We are so honoured to have received these awards and would like to acknowledge the hard work from all our staff,” said David.
Logan Leigh now progress to the regional awards and are joined by Forster business woman Debbie Hopper of Life Skills for Kids who was named ‘Business Leader’.
The business also picked up highly commended in the category of ‘Excellence in Professional Services’ won by Reds and Communications and was named runner up in the ‘Business of the Year Award’.
Debbie thanked her husband and the amazing Life Skills team.
In other categories Boogie Woogie Beach House of Old Bar was named ‘Best Start Up’, Dundaloo Support Service picked up ‘Excellence in Customer Service’, MCR Building Maintenance won ‘Best Trades’, Noeledge systems was the ‘Top Retail Business’, and Sea Horse Diamond beach ‘Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality’. The ‘Peoples Choice Award’ went to Forster based bridal wear company 2 Love & 2 Honour, whilst Allan Small of Taree Camera House was inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’.
This year’s Bruce Cowan Memorial Award was presented to Paul Hogan OAM for his community service over nearly 50 years.
