“Despite an 80 per cent reduction of unexpected child deaths since SIDS and Kids began work in the 1980s, more than 3000 Aussie families still go through this heartbreak of the loss a their cherished child every year,’’ club secretary Melissa Gahan said.
All teams wore red arm bands out of respect for the victims and families of SIDS.
“We thank everyone who donated and also to Forster , Wingham and Wauchope clubs who did not hesitate to participate in our drive,’’ Melissa added.
Meanwhile Group Three Junior Lague is seeking expressions of interest to positions for the 2017 Group Three/Newcastle Knights Development Academy and representative teams. The 2017 Knights skills development program will again be offered to the under 13s, 14s and 15s age groups.
