Teachers wore green and cut a ‘Go Gonski’ cake on Wednesday June 22 to acknowledge the Gonski funding programs which have assisted students at the school.
Jacob, who is a teacher and NSW Teacher Federation union representative, said the the Gonski funding has allowed the school to offer more targeted support to boost literacy and numeracy skills.
He said allowing the students to improve in smaller groups has resulted in a boost of results in those core skills.
“It’s about the kids,” said Jacob. “We are standing up, so we can support them.”
Gonski funding began in 2014 following the independent Gonski Review.
