The space is already established but is in need of some serious tender loving care by some keen community gardeners.
The garden currently consists of several fruit trees, raised garden beds at various heights for accessibility, and spacious enclosures for poultry. The team at House with No Steps is hoping to turn the space into a thriving garden overflowing with vegetables, herbs, flowers and chickens. The garden provides a wonderful opportunity for people with a disability supported by House with No Steps as well as elderly residents of Bishop Tyrell Place to engage more with nature and their community. Unfortunately, what they are currently lacking are volunteers to help make this garden a great space.
"This is a great opportunity for the keen gardener to gain access to a garden bed. It is also a great opportunity for the people we support to get their hands dirty, feed the chickens and take home some awesome farm grown produce. Unfortunately we can not do this alone and because of that we are calling out to the community for all keen gardeners. So if anyone would like to garden here at Bishop Tyrrell Place please contact me and we can work together to make this a great community garden", said House with No Steps community engagement manager for the Manning and Great Lakes region, Jonathan Vine.
Interested volunteers can contact Jonathan on 5593 1860.
