24/7 Street View Project Space
THE 24/7 Street View Project Space is a public project allowing local and NSW regional artists to explore, collaborate and showcase their artistic skills in a challenging environment: the gallery's front window display.
Artists are invited to submit a proposal which explores the themes of innovation, humour and diversity; and demonstrates a high level of technical skill, with consideration to safe installation, 24/7 viewing and attracting new audiences.
All mediums are welcome.
The project space is available in three-weekly blocks starting this June and ending December 2017.
Applications are available at www.manningregionalartgallery.com.au and proposals must be submitted by April 30.
For more information contact the gallery's public program coordinator Rachel Piercy on 6592 5455.
The Wall Project
THIS public project allows local artists to explore, collaborate and showcase their artistic skills on one of the gallery's internal walls during opening hours.
Emerging and established local artists from the Manning, Great Lakes and Gloucester areas are invited to submit a proposal which explores any theme during gallery opening hours over a period of two to three weeks.
The artist or artists will be expected to create an ephemeral artwork allowing audience interaction utilising the dedicated wall (opposite the kitchenette) in the gallery.
Proposals must demonstrate a high level of technical skill, with consideration to safe installation and engagement with audiences. All mediums are welcome.
The project begins in June and runs until June 2018.
Jocelyn Maughan will be the first artist to participate, working during the Robin Norling Exhibition.
The wall will be covered in watercolour paper and she will paint landscapes for four days and interact with visitors.
Proposals are due on April 30, with applications available at www.manningregionalartgallery.com.au
For any information contact assistant gallery director Jane Hosking on 6592 5455.
Heritage Space Exhibition Program in 2018-2019
THE Manning Regional Art Gallery Heritage Space Exhibition Program is designed to give artists, arts collectives and community groups based in the Greater Taree, Gloucester, Port Hastings and Great Lakes region the opportunity to exhibit in the Manning Regional Art Gallery heritage space.
It provides emerging and established artists an opportunity to exhibit in a professionally run public gallery space alongside exhibitions by significant regional and national artists, extend their artistic practice, and enhance audience engagement.
The gallery encourages artists to submit proposals that display excellence, innovation and vision.
This program represents an opportunity for local artists to develop exhibition concepts that consolidate current art practices, to showcase experimentation with new mediums or techniques, or to explore new themes and directions specifically in one or two of the galleries in the heritage space.
Proposals are due by May 31.
Application guidelines and floor plan are available from www.manningregionalartgallery.com.au
For any information, contact assistant director Jane Hosking on 6592 5455.
