Blanch Street, Jackson Street, Alexandra Street and Stroud Street (South of Stuarts Street) were each closed due to parts being underwater.
As of 11.30am this morning the SES informed The Myall River at Bulahdelah had fallen below its minor flood level of 3.0 metres.
Volunteers from the Bulahdelah Visitor Information Centre said the amount of tourists coming in their doors has halved as a result of the wet weather and minor flooding in the area.
"Most have just headed home," said volunteer Kevin Carter.
Kevin said he had heard campers in the Hawks Nest area had even left their tents behind.
"I can't see them wanting to come back either.
"The flood has hammered some of our best activities - you definitely won't be going fishing."
Kevin and his fellow volunteer Nigel Weekes said they have had to get creative in giving the tourists that had stayed in the area ideas on what to do.
"We sent someone to Gloucester, and a group of German tourists to Seal Rocks," he said.
"We just told them to hold on to their hats!"
