Barnett plays in the NSW Cup with Mounties, the feeder side to the Canberra Raiders.
A backrower, he made his NRL debut for the Raiders this year.
Meanwhile Taree's Latrell Mitchell has been named in the Holden Cup (under 20) team of the year.
Mitchell, 18, is in his first year in the under 20 competition with the Sydney Roosters.
He was named on the interchange bench with the team of the year after playing fullback for the Roosters for much of the season.
His elder brother, Shaq, is also a member of the Roosters 20s side.
