The Manning Art Prize is a key initiative of the Friends of the Manning Regional Art Gallery who have brought $16,000 of prize money on board, generously donated by individuals and businesses. The major $10,000 prize is donated by Dr Philip and Dusty Walkom, OAM.
The biennial event has attracted 330 entries from artists across the country and 72 have been selected as finalists with works including paintings, sculpture, photography and drawing.
Nationally recognised artists such as Ahn Do, Graeme Drendell and Julia de Ville have addressed the theme in ways that are sure to both intrigue and mesmerise viewers. Local entries are also outstanding with artists impressing the selectors with their innovative and beautiful depiction of the Naked and Nude.
You are invited to join the judge, John McDonald, artists and our arts community for this glittering night of art, food and wine. Tickets for opening night are on sale now and can be purchased from the gallery for $25.
Finalists and prize-winners will be on exhibition from September 12 to October 25 during normal gallery hours, Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 1pm to 4pm. Entry is $5 for adults and children are free.
Don’t miss out on the Manning Valley’s arts event of the year!
Please note: The Manning Regional Art Gallery will be closed on Wednesday 9 September to prepare for and hang finalists’ art in this fantastic and diverse exhibition.
