"I can't see us getting back there any time soon,'' Mr Steedman said yesterday while carrying out a ground inspection at the complex.
This impacts on juniors as well as the club's two Football Mid North Coast Premier League sides.
Continued wet weather has ruled the fields unplayable, although Mr Steedman added the Barbarians are governed by Greater Taree City Council when it comes to opening and closing the grounds.
The club's premier league sides haven't played at home since Saturday May 9. Officials transferred games to the opposition home grounds in the first round of the competition. This means the Barbarians should have seven home matches in the second round that started last weekend.
However, last Saturday's match against Kempsey Saints that was supposed to be at Old Bar was postponed. The fields were closed following rain last Thursday night.
Old Bar's junior sides are also missing out on games.
"We have a record 250 juniors playing for us this year and parents are complaining because their kids aren't getting a game,'' Mr Steedman said.
He said some of the junior fixtures have been transferred. Games were played at Taree's Omaru Park last weekend.
However, Mr Steedman said this is a bandaid solution as Taree officials are also rightly worried about the impact of extra traffic on their grounds.
"They don't want them getting trashed,'' he said.
"And when we don't play at home it's costing us $1500 in takings we'd make from the canteen and other things we run here. That's starting to hurt as well.''
The twice postponed Taree-Old Bar premier league encounter was eventually played at Football Mid North Coast's Association Field at Taree Recreation Centre last Tuesday night.
Mr Steedman said transferring more matches there is an option the club could consider.
However, this would have to be done with the approval of the Football Mid North Coast board.
"There's already a number of wet matches scheduled for there,'' Mr Steedman added.
He said the club has two major days coming up in the second round of the premier league - the Bryson Challacombe Shield against Taree and the Coastal Credit Union Cup against Macleay Valley. Both are to be played at Old Bar.
"I really don't know what we're going to do with them if we can't play at home,'' he said.
"The big picture for us is that we're going to have to look at raising the field and improving the drainage,'' he added.
This would have to be done in conjunction with council and would require assistance through government funding.
The Barbarians are due to play Port FC on Saturday in the premier league. However, this game is scheduled for Tuffins Lane at Port Macquarie.
No date has yet been determined when last Saturday's clash against Kempsey Saints will be played.
