John and David completed their interrupted game during the week against Dallas and Mark Hammond with the final score being 25-17 that being the same margin when play re-commenced. It was of little consolation but Dallas and Mark did win the last two ends picking up four shots, however they both did well to reach the semis.
Wednesday dad’s army
THERE were some big scores in the three games played and the best being that of Mal Cannon playing with George Floyd and Jake Kennett (as swinging lead) with a plus 17 result Greg Bartlett and Rod McNeil. Finishing with a + 16 were Peter Williams and Allan Dodd against Col Hinton and Tim Richardson. Tony Baker, Mick Hollebone and Warren Smith got a + 7 result over Ross Piggott, Guy Watts and Allan Messer.
Saturday Open
TWO games of 10 ends were played in excellent conditions with the trio of Michael Clarke, Lillian Cross and Leonie Gilford finished with two wins and 34 points to take home the ‘bacon’. Coming in close behind the winners with two wins and 32 points were Chris Kane, Brian Williams and Loddy Dennes. Taking out third position were John Black, Graeme Ireland and Tim Richardson with one win and 22 points. The next best were Narelle Foy, Dallas Hammond and Mick Hollebone with a win and 19 points. Unable to get any worthwhile results were Denise Matheson playing with Paul Swan and Snow Trenchard and Peter Williams, Claudia O’Donnell and Glen Gilford.
Reminders
Membership fees are due this week.....our green keeper Brad has brightened the surrounds with some fresh paint and bowlers are requested to not place bowls bags on the seats.
Sunday July 12: The committee request at least 32 players in a versatile open fours event which will be sponsored by Plaza Butchery.
Sunday July 26: Triples event which will be open and there will be three games at $60 per team with lunch included and sponsored by the local Caltex outlet.
