ROBERT Allen took out this club event last Wednesday evening to the tune of 31-11 against Paul Swan. Throughout the game Robert played consistent draw bowls, whereas Paul found it difficult to reproduce his early good form and let Robert get away with the game in the early stages.

Pennants
OUR number one grade played under lights on the synthetic surface at Taree West last Friday evening with the locals winning by 18 shots. Tom Moore on his rink only went down by three shots 20-17, with the other rinks of Steve Matheson down by eight shots and Rex Dawson by only three shots. Red did have a lead of 13 shots halfway into the game and hung on for his victory.
The four grade came up against Lansdowne at home on Saturday coming away with a good win by 22 shots. Glen Dennes and his men were down by two shots after nine ends by then came good to win by 17 shots. John Black’s rink continued their good form winning by 13 shots; however Graeme Walker found the going tough on his rink and went down 27-19.
On Sunday morning at home the fours came up against the front runners Tuncurry and a result that pleased the locals with an eight shot victory. Graeme Walker’s rink won 26-16 and Glen Dennes and his crew got up 24-18. The only disappointment was John Black’s rink who was behind by a shot on the final end by seven shots went to the visitors on that end with a result t Tuncurry 24-16.
Wednesday Dad’s Army
WITH a +24 and winning were Dallas Hammond, Dick Connell and George Floyd against Tony Baker, Barry Kershaw and Guy Watts. Making his presence felt in the club is Ian Furner, he played with Andy Leung and the pair was runners-up with a +18 over Mal Cannon and Tim Richardson. Peter Williams and ever-improving Allan Dodd finished with a +12 against Brian Williams and Mick Hollebone. On the remaining rink Col Hinton, Ben Wolters and Jake Kennett got a +10 over Ray Cooper, Rex Thomas and Peter Holden.
Twilight
TONY Colchen, Jim Gillogly and Peter Howarth collected the big vouchers in their win by 10 shots over the youthful team of Mark Hammond, Col McTaggart and David O’Donnell. Ian Furner, Jim Gillogly and Peter Tutty won by six shots over Hunter Payton, Snow Trenchard and Allan Dodd. Rex Dawson and his ‘clan’ of Michael and Max went down by nine shots against Tony Lowman, Pat Payton and Ray Cooper.
Friday mixed
LAST week the game commenced at 3.30pm however the starting time this week is to be 4.30pm.
Finishing with a +10 and winning this event were Leonie Gilford and Allan Cox against Ron Lollback and Sonya Sontag. Mick Hollebone and Sini Wolters finished with a +9 against Jim Gillogly and Janet Nash. Also with a +9 were Ian Furner and Karen Carlton against Peter Sontag and Val Leeson. George Floyd and Lillian Cross got a +7 against Graeme Walker and Maureen Hollebone.
