Accepting the cheque on Wednesday, January 28 were RFS Group Four captain Ian Sirett and Wallaby Joe captain Bob Pope.
The money was raised through special Bushfire Awareness advertising campaigns in recent issues of the newspaper with a percentage of the advertising being donated to the RFS.
Bob Pope said the funds will be used in a building project to cover in Wallaby Joe's kitchen area with walls, ceilings and a sliding door.
Bob and Ian said they were very grateful for receiving the funds and Elaine said it would not have been possible without the generosity and support of the businesses that advertise in the features.
