Children and families around the country are involved in activities and events during Children's Week through the participation of schools, playgroups, childcare, kindergartens, cultural groups, libraries and other community groups.
The Children's Week art exhibition at the Manning Regional Art Gallery provides the opportunity for very young children to express themselves and celebrate their unique talents. It is a valuable opportunity for children and their families to appreciate the work and skills of children and to see their art work professionally hanging in a gallery, it also gives them an opportunity to visit the art gallery, many for the first time.
The gallery has worked in cooperation with Childcare Services Taree and District to bring this delightful exhibition to the Manning for the last eight years. The 2014 exhibition is the biggest yet and includes over 100 canvasses and some three-dimensional works hung in the gallery studio.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit the exhibition to view and possibly buy a masterpiece by a very young artist.
